The New Balance 1224 running shoe is a running shoe from the New Balance shoe company. The upper has been reinforced with additional overlays to better wrap the arch and lock down the foot which adds stability and improves fit. The overlays are welded instead of using stitches to reduce chafing when running. The heel is underlain with durable foam with small holes cut out which mean the overall weight of the shoe is reduced but doesn’t change the effectiveness of the cushioning under the heel. It is recommended for light weight runners who overpronate or for average weight runners who are looking for a soft, yet stable shoe.
