We Loved Our Honeymoon and Saved

The honeymoon was great and we loved the beach. Our hotel was located close to the water, and the staff was incredible. I booked the flights early so I saved a lot of money. The low price airline tickets gave us more spending money for our day trips. We enjoyed eating out quite a bit, with the money we saved. I am happy that I was able to keep us on a budget and that everything turned out so well for us. We planned this trip months in advance. I hope we can come back next year. This place is like a dream.

Henry had to travel to Ohio on business. He had a meeting with several other members of their group. They decided to have a lunch meeting and did not want to stop and go out and eat. Henry opened his laptop and entered the zip code for the hotel where they were staying and the search brought up several kfc locations in cincinnati that were close to their hotel. Fell and Got Hurt

My sister fell on got hurt pretty bad on her vacation with her husband. She ended up with a pretty bad broken leg. Luckily they had decided on that cheap travel insurance, because that covered the medical expenses. They were so pleased they had made that decision. I felt so bad for her when she came hobbling off the plane. I spend two weeks with her after she came home from her trip. Her husband had to work and she couldn’t get around well enough to be alone at home. It was nice to spend time with her, but I wish she hadn’t had to go through pain in the first place.

So, Brighton and Hove’s totally female  short list of Parliamentary candidates feeds some boost to a possible future shift of base in the sex equalizer in the political power domain .

Being quoted in The Argus , Fawcett Society chief executive Ceri Goddard said: “If all the candidates are women that is cause for celebration but also concern that it has taken until 2009, whereas all-male elections are still the norm.

“The voters if Brighton can be pleased that whom ever they elect they will be a step closer to closing the gender gap in parliament where currently less than 20% of our MP’s are women – less than Iraq, Afghanistan and Rwanda.”

‘Less than Iraq, Afghanistan and Rwanda……… ‘ - personally that particular statement left me somewhat abashed about the state of our political domain and questioning as to the reasons for male domination above and beyond the prehistoric precedency that gentlemen should have it totally their own way - and its a whole Pandoras box of discussion that is healthiest left for another place .

But my role here today is as - as always - to fly the flag for Brighton and Hove and demonstrate how innovative thinking and politically conscious our town is, and having  a ratio of men to women in parliament  more symbolic of the population, is in my judgment, a pace in the right direction!

Bradbury Mountain State Park: It’s For the Birds!

While it is situated close to the more densely populated cities of Southern Maine Bradbury Mountain, feels as if it worlds away from nearby Portland and Lewiston- Auburn. The view is stunning and, as one of the Maine State Parks system’s most popular sites, the park is a perennial favorite of hikers, cross-country skiers, equestrians, snow-shoers, mountain bikers, snowmobilers, nature lovers and bird watchers! The park is home to hawks, wild turkeys falcons and eagles year-round, and is a common stopping point for many species of birds during their annual migrations north and south. It is also home for numerous mammals including native moose, deer, and fox.  Bradbury Mountain is one of the five original state parks in the state of Maine. Researching Great and New Places to Eat

My brother is taking a trip at the end of the month and he has been researching some of the local eateries to decide where he would like to go.  He has been looking at restaurants new forest area.  He says that they have a lot to offer and that he will definitely be giving some of them a try.  They are very close to where he is staying and will be convenient for him to get to.  I told him that I wish that I could go with him.  I teased him and said that I might hide in his suitcase.
