Some really good car lights is so important for safe driving in these modern times. Almost all vehicles these days have wiperblades fitted, including trains and even aircraft. Wiperblades in a very basic form were invented by J. H. Apjohn in 1903. Later in the same year a lady called Mary Anderson decided to modify the original idea and invented the ‘swinging arm’ wiperblade. For good visibility a pump is usually installed alongside the wiperblade, this sprays on water to help visibility. There are problems when using water in the pumps as it will freeze in cold weather and will be useless until the ice thaws. Advances in modern technology on cars meant that wiperblades were added to the headlights to help with visibility. Recent advances have seen the technology improve so much so that we now have wiperblades with sensors so that they activate when rain begins.
